almatar Travel and Tourism Company, in partnership with “Thmanya” Company, announced its sponsorship of their new Ramadan program “Al Rehla”, in the belief in its role in supporting the rich specialized Arab tourism content provided by this program.

The “Rehla with Anas Iskandar” program is a documentary program produced by “Thmanya” Publishing and Distribution Company, where Anas Iskandar takes us on tours to eight Arab countries during the month of Ramadan, exploring street life, the customs and traditions of the residents, and their stories and legends. The countries he visited include: Morocco, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Jordan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

The program’s tours include the following places:

Morocco:

Marrakesh: He visited “Jamaa Al Fnaa” Square, learned about local Ramadan dishes, met the former Moroccan king’s chef, and listened to the stories of the storyteller.

Fes: Explore the old city, learn about the art of Zellige, and have Iftar with a Moroccan family in a musical session.

Chefchaouen: Visit the blue city, and explore its Ramadan atmosphere away from the eyes of tourists.

Egypt:

Cairo: Wander through the popular neighborhoods, participate in preparing Ramadan lanterns, and attend the largest Iftar table in the world.

Upper Egypt: Explore rural life, taste foods such as “Aish al-Shams” and Molokhia, and learn about local Ramadan customs.

Sudan:

Khartoum: Learn about unique customs such as “Sett al-Shai” gatherings, try traditional Sudanese coffee, and participate in a group Iftar.

Algeria:

Algiers: Visit the Casbah neighborhood, learn about the art of Zellige, visit the Martyr’s Shrine, and have Iftar with an Algerian family.

Jordan:

Madaba and Amman: Explore the mosaic art in Madaba, visit the Roman Amphitheater and the Great Husseini Mosque in Amman, and taste Mansaf and Kunafa.

Sultanate of Oman: Nizwa and Al Jabal Al Akhdar: Visited the traditional Nizwa market, participated in the “Ramadan Hittah”, and learned about rose water making in Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

Saudi Arabia:

Jazan: Explored the Eid rituals in the region, learned about the Khawlani dialect, and participated in a Ramadan Iftar on the Black Mountain.

In each episode, Anas delves into the culture of the host country, highlighting local Ramadan rituals, traditional foods, and social activities. For example, in Morocco, he visited the city of Marrakech and explored the “Jamaa Al Fnaa” square and learned about the most famous Ramadan dishes there.

In Egypt, he visited Upper Egypt and explored rural life there, trying foods like “Aish Al Shams” and “Mulukhiyah”, and participating in local Ramadan activities. In Sudan, he learned about unique customs such as “Sett Al Shai” gatherings and trying traditional Sudanese coffee.
