The Air Aviation Department was established and it was managed by the Ministry of Defense titled Government Airways Department.
1938
The Air Aviation Department shifted to the Ministry of Transport titled General Department for Public Airways .

General Department for Public Airways commenced the first international flight from Ankara via Istanbul to Athens.
1956
It was established officially with a capital of 60 million Turkish liras.
1990
