The rooms vary somewhat in both style and size, but on average they are large and all are traditionally elegant with anitque furniture and fine art in abundance. Most rooms have balcony and all have magnificent views (though not all overlook the lake). Needless to say in a hotel of this superb standard both the rooms and their luxurious marbled bathrooms are in exceptional condition. The Kulm Hotel also reveals the magic of the sixth star in its art of cuisine. The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz consistently carries out the high art of refined gourmet fare. Our repertoire ranges from carefully prepared local Engadine specialities to international haute cuisine. We offer a choice of restaurants, each with its own distinct ambience, where our guests can dine during their stay or enjoy apéritifs at one of our sophisticated bars As the premier dining place at the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, the imposing Grand Restaurant presents discreet elegance to seduce any visitors. The Italian restaurant The Pizzeria is a typical Italian trattoria specializing in refined pasta dishes, pizza as well as meat and fish selections that are sure to please the most discerning diners. Located at the entrance to Kulm Park, the Chesa al Parc with its beautiful sun terrace combines sporting elegance with the rustic charm of a cosy Engadine-style restaurant. The luxurious Kulm Hotel St. Moritz has enjoyed an excellent reputation in the Swiss hotel trade for 150 years. Thanks to its founder, hotel pioneer Johannes Badrutt, St. Moritz and the Kulm Hotel were already considered tops in the Swiss Alps in the 19th century. A bet made the Engadine the cradle of winter tourism at that time. The beautiful old lobby is in wonderful condition with attractive traditional furniture. The renowned Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is not just like any luxury hotel. In 1856, when the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz opened its doors for the first time, its founder, Johannes Badrutt, initiated a tradition that is very much alive today: to provide each of our guests, young or old, with a cherished and unforgettable memory. The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is characterized not only by style but also by originality. And Badrutt became very successful: It was here in St. Moritz where winter tourism was born in 1864. It was here at the Kulm Hotel where the first electric arc light in Switzerland was lit. It was here in St. Moritz where in 1928 and 1948 the Winter Olympic Games were officially opened. We are proud of our long, colourful history and our promising future. What sets us apart is our lovingly preserved original decor and our state-of-the-art infrastructure. The distinguishing mark of the decorative art of our building is its combination of late 19th century elegance and local, Engadine elements.
